Danielle Harrison-Ramiz, more commonly known as Danni Ramiz, is the principal of Thelma Ellis Dickerson’s Jumoke Academy Elementary School (TED). She arrived at TED with rural, urban, and suburban experiences, spanning early childhood through secondary education. A 2017 Teach For America Greater Delta Alum, Mrs. Ramiz is a champion for educational equity and excellence. She is a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success and a candidate for the National Board Teacher Certification. Principal Ramiz has earned the following degrees: Associates in Human Services, Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology, Masters of Education in Special Education, and Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision, and has initiated her Educational Doctorate. She is a certified administrator in Mississippi and Connecticut, and self identifies as a “forever teacher.”
Principal Ramiz has worked in education since 2009 and assumed her first leadership role in 2015. Her educational experience encompasses teaching, resource creation, leading, mentoring, coaching, facilitation, event planning and hosting, innovation and supervision. She has a passion for data, mathematics, personal and academic growth, and overall excellence. She is a leader in her church, a proud wife and mother, a poet and songwriter, and is fueled by collaboration, impact, and love. Mrs. Ramiz has described her role as TED’s Principal as one that “hits close to home” as she strives to exceed the expectations of the community while leading a school in which she’ll one day proudly enroll her own children.
