Jumoke Academy encompasses three distinct academic campuses in Hartford, Connecticut. The elementary school campus provides education for grades PreK-4, while our two themed middle school campuses cater to grades 5-8, with one focusing on a STEM-based curriculum at the Honors SMaRT campus and the other offering an arts-integrated education at the Hartford Conservatory campus.
As a vibrant part of the Connecticut educational landscape, we’re dedicated to providing our scholars with a high-quality, tuition-free education. Our mission is to foster a nurturing and vibrant learning environment that empowers scholars to reach their fullest potential.
Jumoke Academy is not just a place for learning; it’s a community where scholars grow, explore, and achieve their fullest potential. Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and build foundational skills that pave the way for success in high school and beyond. With a focus on individual strengths and needs, our dedicated educators prepare scholars for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
Our Pre-K program is recognized for its excellence with accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, ensuring the highest standards of early childhood education.
With one lead teacher and two academic assistants per Pre-K classroom, we maintain a low scholar-to-teacher ratio, ensuring personalized attention and support. This ratio is designed to provide an optimal learning environment, with a limit of 20 scholars per class, resulting in an average 1:7 scholar-to-teacher ratio.
Jumoke Academy offers a robust and varied curriculum that aligns with Common Core and Next Generation State Standards, preparing scholars for success in high school and beyond.
We prioritize strong partnerships with families and the community, believing that collaboration is key to the success of our scholars. Our engagement initiatives provide numerous opportunities for families to get involved in their children’s education.
Jumoke Academy stands out with its three distinct campuses, each designed to cater to the unique needs and aspirations of our scholars:
Our flagship school, affectionately known as “TED” in honor of our illustrious founder, sets the standard for excellence. Serving grades PreK through 4, TED is the foundation of our educational model, emphasizing a comprehensive curriculum that lays the groundwork for lifelong learning.
At our Honors SMaRT campus, scholars in grades 5 through 8 engage in a STEM-based curriculum that promotes scientific exploration and inquiry. SMaRT stands for Science, Math, and Research Technology, reflecting our commitment to developing the next generation of innovators and thinkers.
Our arts-focused middle school academy provides a rich, arts-integrated education. Scholars participate in an expansive arts program, including instrumental and vocal music, visual arts, dance, and theater, alongside rigorous core academics.
We look forward to welcoming new families and scholars to our growing community and sharing in the successes that await.

Taking the first step by entering your child into our lottery means you’re choosing a path of exceptional educational quality for them at Jumoke Academy. It’s more than just enrollment; it’s about securing a bright, promising future and becoming part of a community that values excellence in learning. We are thrilled about the opportunity to partner with you and your family on this transformative educational journey. Jumoke Academy Charter School conducts a random lottery to select applicants for available seats at each campus. The lottery is broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube after the application period closes, ensuring a transparent and fair process for all applicants.
Upon accepting your seat, you’ll receive a registration packet and a snapcode from PowerSchool. This snapcode is crucial for your enrollment process, so please note it down carefully. You’ll need to complete the online registration packet by uploading required documents such as:
It’s essential to complete this process promptly to secure your place and join the school’s mailing list.
The snapcode is like a key to your scholar’s Registration for the upcoming year. You received this unique code for your scholar when you accepted the seat.
If your child is not immediately offered admission, they will be placed on a waitlist in the order determined by the lottery result. This waitlist is actively used throughout the school year as seats become available. Applicants joining after the lottery will be added to the end of the existing waitlist in the order their applications are received.
Yes, admission preference is given to siblings of scholars currently attending any Jumoke Academy Charter School campus. This is in line with our commitment to supporting families and ensuring siblings have the opportunity to learn together.
Effective July 1, 2024, children seeking admission to Kindergarten for the 2024 – 2025 school year must meet the new cutoff birthdate of September 1. Any exceptions to this requirement involve a specific process, including a written request and a Kindergarten assessment for placement.
Families wishing to transfer their scholar between the middle school campuses for the upcoming school year must submit a written request by March 15th of the current year. Transfers are based on available seats and are not guaranteed.
Yes, if you have multiple children within the district, a separate registration process is required for each child. This ensures that we gather specific information pertinent to each scholar’s unique needs and circumstances. However, to streamline the process and save you time, we suggest completing the registration for one child and then proceeding to the next. Our system is designed to “snap over” common family information from one registration to the next, minimizing the need to re-enter shared details.
In March annually, current families are required to complete an Intent to Return form. This process confirms the student’s registration for the next school year and helps us determine the number of reserved seats. Failure to complete this form may result in the forfeiture of the student’s seat.
For technical support, please visit the PowerSchool Community help center at http://help.powerschool.com or use the “Contact Us” or “Help” options within the form pages for assistance.
