Dear Staff and Parents:

Greetings! I sincerely trust that this letter finds each member of the Jumoke Academy team enjoying the final days of summer vacation and anxiously looking forward to launching the 2014-2015 school year. In addition to the many developments that occurred over the summer, I was hired as the Dean of Students & Enrichment. I am extremely delighted and cannot wait to introduce myself and get to know you.

Prior to coming to Jumoke Academy, I worked with Hartford Public Schools and Manchester Public Schools teaching English Language Arts. I also taught English at Capital Community College, Policies of Education at Central Connecticut State University, and worked as a college supervisor at the University of Saint Joseph. Many exciting opportunities await the Jumoke Academy community in the 2014-2015 school year; and so, we have scheduled times when we can meet and explore the details. Not only will we return to our new school year welcomed by significant environmental improvements at Jumoke Academy; we will embrace a coherent literacy and math curriculum along with the implementation of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports) and a new schedule that will afford staff daily time to collaborate and share information. The future for Jumoke Academy looks incredible bright! So far, I have experienced an incredible warm welcome and outpouring of support from the Jumoke Academy team, and hopefully you too will feel the same when you walk in he door. Over the past week, teachers and administrators have been working feverishly to ensure that everything is in place to welcome our scholars. We are looking forward to launching the best school year ever at the Jumoke Academy.

Enjoy your final days of summer – A NEW YEAR AWAITS YOU!
